November 23, 2016

The Amazon Corporation awarded $10,000 through The AWS Cloud Computing for Research program to support a joint project between the University of Florida and MIT to develop a prototype for an open election data facility.  Led by Dr. Micah Altman (MIT Libraries), Professor Michael P. McDonald (UFL, Political Science), and Charles Stewart III (MIT, Political Science) the project aims to develop a prototype system to automatically collect and archive data related to United States elections.

This collaboration builds upon a history of prior joint research and software development. The work will contribute to the Universities’ capacity to collect, archive, and disseminate research data.
